The company is seeking a Content Writer for a client based in Georgia. The qualified Content Writer loves the pace of change in technology and enjoys bringing their combined talents in customer service and expertise in writing and editing to translate tech-speak for mortal consumption. One is innately people-centered and talk tech and write/edit with the reader in mind. One wants to be part of a team committed to making technology changes easier for colleagues around the world. Likes a fast pace, enjoys collaborating remotely with a close-knit and diverse team, and appreciate integrity in colleagues and the company.
In need of a experienced technical writer who can help the company consistently evolve the focus on people when communicating about technical changes to 36,000 colleagues around the world, whether its an enterprise system upgrade announcement, scripted video, or online how-to guide.
Responsibilities:
Become steeped in the corporate brand and writing standards and make introductions with business partners
Pair with change leads on projects in flight to learn context
Work with manager to develop preferred approach for delegation of work
Develop and enable a new writing, editing, review, and approval process flow
Collaborate with communications, team leads and PMO representatives to begin developing and/or updating standard communication templates for project team leads
Most of one's time will be spent consulting on communications about upcoming technical changes and then writing / editing messaging and documentation for technical experts and project managers in IT, Colleague Experience and Technology. The audience in almost all situations will be some or all company employees around the world
Develop content for any channel including the company's web platform, video, email, blog, SharePoint
Will connect with technical leads, project managers, and other colleagues as needed through a number of virtual collaboration tools
Learn collaboration products and improving one's professional skills
Requirements:
Advanced degree or comparable experience writing to take complex information and simplify it in easy-to-understand communication
Obtains a customer service mindset
Virtual / remote working using Office365, Zoom and/or a similar tools
Preferred experience working in or in support of a Technical Help Desk
Consulting with content owners on audience analysis and recommending effective message delivery methods
Must be curious, learning both from team members and individual study
Has experience with Drupal
