Job Description
Purpose
The Country Director, India is a key leadership role within the Edufection Inc. because of our unique position in driving revenue, in securing quality candidates and promoting organization’s unique product offering and learner experience. It requires demonstrated experience in international education market and knowledge of the higher education sector in India, experience of working in large complex organizations, sound business development and partnership abilities and a collaborative approach to dealing with a range of learners. The postholder will have high-level judgement and problem-solving acumen and be an ambassador for Edufection.
The Country Director reports to the CEO. The role will:
- contribute to the development of strategy and will be responsible for the development and implementation of the plans to attract high quality international students to Canada; provide high level advice to the Director, International on matters relating to student recruitment including trends, market forecasts, and potential challenges in market facing the organization;
- navigate the intricate ethics, laws and regulations around international student recruitment business;
- build and develop strong relationships with all types of customers by providing excellent consulting skills and managing opportunities that will further expose the market to organization;
- develop partnerships that will establish programs and loyalty with administrators, teachers, schools and universities while growing our presence and community in India.
It is an expectation that the incumbent will run the India Country Recruitment as a commercially sound operation and have the requisite skills to develop and analyze market intelligence, setting of strategies for the development and growth of the business, strategic partnerships, international student recruitment and research and development opportunities for Edufection.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic country plan that aligns with Edufection offerings, and identify multiple recruitment channels for sustainable engagement. Undertake environmental scanning and market research to identify and respond to market changes and new opportunities.
- Management: Lead and manage product training on an ongoing basis to ensure country team is confident and competent to promote our offering and personalized services. Provide ongoing input and support into the operational delivery of the country ambassadors team to support lead and nurture management. Ensure compliance with local and other relevant legislation as it impacts upon promotion and student recruitment as well as channel partners, including academia, through whom international students enter the organization.
- Customer Relationship Management: Make recommendations to improve the lead management process (from pipeline entry to enrolment) and nurture marketing processes and programs. Ensure that enquiry and influencer (i.e. partner education providers) databases are up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive. Support the CEO to further relationships with international government bodies.
- Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement strategies to achieve recruitment and engagement objectives in India. Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for partnerships, articulations and joint programs with suitable education partners. Represent and promote the organization at education fairs, international schools and other institutions. Manage direct reports to recruit international students to enrolment stage with the objective of reaching and ideally exceeding predetermined full degree and study abroad recruitment targets.
- Business Development: Evaluate international development opportunities and make recommendations as to appropriate actions/approaches.
- Knowledge Management: Liaise closely with the directorate to ensure that recruitment effort is coordinated and that there are no communications or processing problems.
- Market Research Intelligence: Research, collate and maintain information and data relevant to the international market place and provide reports as required.
- Cultural Awareness: The postholder will come into contact with learners and partners from a variety of cultural backgrounds. It is expected that mutual respect, cultural awareness and cultural sensitivity will form the basis of the professional working relationship.
Requirements
Qualifications
A University degree, preferably inclusive of postgraduate studies in business, communications, marketing or a related field.
Knowledge and Experience
- Significant experience in sales, business development and marketing as well as the development and implementation of business plans to support international student recruitment.
- Substantial experience across the range of recruitment functions at a senior level, and demonstrated capacity as a ‘hands on’ practitioner in a consultative, service delivery model.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Indian higher education system as well as an excellent understanding of the current issues and trends within international education and the challenges facing universities internationally.
- Substantial experience working in international student recruitment across a range of countries.
- Experience operating in South Asia will be highly regarded.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and self-awareness skills, communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience in key customer communications.
- Sales management and experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs and/or similar technologies for business development
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility, gain confidence and maintain rapport with staff at all levels and a personal commitment to work within a strongly service focused environment.
