Job Description
- Model Risk Management (MRM) is an independent oversight function. The Mumbai center is one of the five MRM locations across the globe and is responsible for development and maintenance of Model Risk Management Policy and procedures, for evaluation and approval of high and medium risk models used in global consumer risk management, and all models used for regulatory reporting such as CCAR/DFAST, IFRS9, CECL, ICAAP etc.
Additionally, the function is also responsible for creating and managing centralized model inventory (iMRMS) to bring transparency in all the MRM processes and to ensure consistent standards and governance across Citi for model identification, risk assessment, model use, model implementation, model validation, and monitoring and reporting on model risk.
The Team with this open position is a part of Model Validation Team within MRM India (Mumbai), supporting Inventory Management function. The team plays a very critical role in creating MIS reports of model inventory on a daily basis & assesses the associated risks due to non-compliance to the policy, corresponding to all type of model validation related activities, monitoring all type of model related activities and associated required actions, communicating them with validation team. The team is also responsible to identify data errors and improvement scope within iMRMS system and closely work with the MRM Inventory and MRM DQ team to fix them, training and guiding model validation team in terms of iMRMS enhancement and its implication on validation BAU activities.
The additional responsibility is to help validation team to build & maintain technical Infrastructure (e.g. creating and managing space on Unix server, shared drive, documentation management), technical onboarding of external consultants based on defined process (on a need basis).
There will be a very significant amount of learning and growth opportunities with this position, from both technical and leadership perspective. The incumbent will be exposed to different areas of business operations and will receive high exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- MIS creation, tracking, automation and enhancements
- In-depth understanding of MRM Policy and Procedures
- Contribution to MRM system enhancement process and preparation of the material
- Communication and coordination with MRM Senior Management across the globe
- Communication and coordination with MRM Global Governance , Model Sponsors on policies and queries related to model validation schedules
- Unix Server space management
- Data delegate activities –
Identification and remediation of data issues (not technical) in MRM system. Maintenance of Data Quality within iMRMS system.
- Qualifications
- Post Graduation in any of the relevant stream like Information Technology, statistics, or others
- 3+ years relevant experience in creation of MIS, Database Management, Infrastructure Support activities (server related)
- Candidate with Data Analytics background or worked as Business Analyst would be given preference
- Strong exposure on MS Excel and PowerPoint, Power Queries/VBA, any other programming knowledge is a plus
- Soft Skills: These are must
- Strong analytical skills is a must
- Ability to recognizing information and patterns in data that are not obvious, and focusing analytical efforts in pursuit of explanations, isolations of cause and effect.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, ability to present work in a formal and understandable format, bringing groups of people to consensus
- Should be flexible in approach and thought process
- Should be ready to work under pressure
- Attitude to learn and comprehend the periodical changes in the regulatory requirement as per FED.
- Should be able meet given deadline with effective outcome. Should be open to any adhoc requests quick learner and should work independently with minimal support
