The People team at Lalamove is responsible for building scalable people frameworks as the company continues its expansion globally. We are a next-gen people team consisting of serial start-up gurus, in-house recruiters and generalists who all share the same passion for the people function and believe it is the backbone that drives the success of Lalamove.
All great people teams are built on rock solid operations - as the business needs continue to evolve, a new role is created for a Senior Manager , focusing on People Operations in India. The scope of the role entails working closely with the People team in Hong Kong and senior management, to lead the vertical of people operations in India, covering the entire employee lifecycle including; talent acquisition , country payroll,HR data reporting , employee services, welfare , people technologies and workflows .
The role will report to the People Team in our Functional Department quarters based in Hong Kong while partnering closely with the senior management team in India. The role will be based in New Delhi.
What You'll Do

- Talent Acquisition: Actively partner with the business and Talent Acquisition to develop strategies to strengthen talent bench strength and a ready talent pipeline
- Process Design & Implementation: Work closely with Functional People team in Hong Kong to implement robust People strategies and SOPs for all things people related, including onboarding / offboarding, Country payroll, career progression, performance management, C&B and people related legal & compliance matters
- HR Data Management: Lead team to ensure complete accuracy of all HR records, systems and internal policies and effectively execute best practices in human resource information systems, people data management and reporting to enable robust decision making for management and key stakeholders
- People Partner with city and business line people business partners, COEs to understand operational needs, collaborate and work as a team to drive employee satisfaction and engagement from a people operations standpoint
- Company standard: Ensure a high user adoption rate of company frameworks and SOPs across the entire employee lifecycle and keep abreast of market trends and contribute to the strategic direction and evolution of people related best practices for business
- Culture: Act as a brand ambassador of our values - Passion, Grit, Humility & Execution when connecting with prospective talent and stakeholders in the business
- Leading high performing People Team in India - Effectively lead, manage, and build a strong collaborative team with a strong SOP mindset including effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning

- Able to prioritize, work autonomously and manage time effectively Working knowledge of global payroll systems eg. ADP, TMF and HRIS implementation and maintenance a huge plus
- Business Insight – Knows how businesses work; knowledgeable in current and future policies; is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace; uses business insight to build credibility
What You'll Need

- Graduate degree, preferably in HR Management or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably some experience in a start-up or similar fast growth tech organization
- Strong knowledge of local labour regulations, HR operations and local recruitment specifics
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluent in English, Hindi and a third Indian language is ideal but not necessary
- Ability to travel frequently to Hong Kong and across India metro cities
- Prior experience working in Hong Kong is advantageous
