About the role:
- This is an independent contractor role, not an employee role, with immediate start.
- The role offers part-time contractual work with a varied commitment of 5-20 hours per week. This is not a full-time employment opportunity.
- This is a fully remote position, there is no office to commute to and there never will be (regardless of the COVID-19 situation). Candidates can work from home or from anywhere they like.
- This role requires self-starter candidates who are flexible and can adapt to work with an international team in different time zones.
Job requirements:
This is a blended position that requires both strong sales, customer success and digital marketing acumen:
- Identifying potential customer contacts in Europe (ie. Germany, UK and France), US (San Francisco Bay area, NYC, Boston and Atlanta) and APAC (Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne).
- Ranking and prioritising customer contacts, and reaching out to qualified leads via a sales strategy that may include a mixture of guest posting/commenting, cold calling, webinars/virtual events, email drip campaigns, social media (ie. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), on and offsite SEO, and paid campaigns (social media ads and PPC).
- Actively representing, presenting and promoting our brands across the board (three to five separate brands) to prospective customers.
- Actively representing, presenting and promoting our brand communications services (brand strategy, creative design, content development and technology) to prospective customers, using a well-established sales process and discussion guide.
- Working in tandem with the marketing manager. Actively informing and engaging with websites, blogs, social media channels and email campaigns to align sales and marketing.
- Achieving sales targets and outcomes within schedule. Analysing sales campaign results and metrics, and presenting data in an easy-to-understand format. Creating lists in Google Sheets, writing executive summaries and creating simple reports based on large amounts of comprehensive data.
- Researching and identifying sales and marketing trends, competitors, tools, hashtags, etc. Running surveys and in-depth interviews with prospective customers.
- Presenting information in a visual format or through the use of graphics, and writing engaging content.
- Email communication, phone calls, video calls and chat internally and externally.
- Team collaboration, support and task management in our project management and eCRM platform.
Job responsibilities:
The responsibilities may vary on a weekly basis, including but not limited to:
- Take ownership and full responsibility of managing the entire scope of sales and customer success on multiple brands with multiple social media accounts, blogs, email campaigns and websites/landing pages.
- Research, identify, rank and prioritise high-quality and relevant customer contacts as per sales process and strategy.
- Reach out and engage with prospective customers to build relationships and induce sales.
- Actively represent, present and promote our brands across the board (three to five separate brands) to prospective customers.
- Manage, maintain and monitor sales activities across all channels (keeping CRM up-to-date, keeping lists up-to-date, managing guest posts and comments, working with paid campaigns, attending and organising webinars and virtual events, responding to customer questions on website chatbox, working with marketing managers to align sales and marketing, and tracking results).
- Actively get involved in improving sales process and strategy by setting up customer segments and defining success factors, cost of acquisition, return on investment and metrics to measure results.
- Make sure to hit sales targets and analyse results.
- Conduct surveys and interviews to understand prospective customers, and keep a close eye on competitors, sale and marketing trends, etc.
- Assist with creating, reviewing, formatting and proofreading marketing collaterals (ie. webinar presentations, presentation slides, PR articles, lists, brochures, whitepapers, ebooks, FAQs/knowledge base and case studies/use cases/testimonials)
- Research and review competitor websites, hashtags, blog articles, social media posts, emails, market trends, industry reports and other online resources.
- Prepare and conduct surveys and in-depth interviews with stakeholders.
- Manage contact lists, email lists and create spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with team members, and provide support and task management in our project management platform.
- Conduct frequent video calls, phone calls, email correspondence and chat with prospective customers.
- Attend audio and video conference calls, and participate in team chat.
Technical requirements:
- Advanced/expert user of the internet with excellent all-round knowledge of search engines, sales channels and tactics (calls/emails, social media, paid campaigns, webinars, virtual events, etc.), and content marketing channels (ie. social media, blog, email, websites, webinars, reports, podcasts).
- CRMs such as HubSpot.
- Paid social media advertising and analytics (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, on the computer and mobile phone).
- SEO and PPC (Adwords).
- Wordpress and SquareSpace CMS.
- Website analytics such as Google Analytics and Mixpanel.
- Lead capturing such as Drift and Intercom.
- ESPs such as Mailchimp and Constant Contact.
- Social media management such as Buffer.
- Canva and similar design tools.
- On and off site blogs and Medium.com.
- Other social sales tools and sales prospecting tools such as Crystal, Hunter.io.
- Comfortable with using different web browsers (ie. Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox) on desktop/laptop.
- Experience in working with project management platforms (ie. Basecamp, Asana, Trello or Teamwork), team communications tools (ie. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype, Calendly, WhatsApp and Slack), design tools (ie. Canva), website analytics (ie. Google Analytics and Mixpanel), social media management (ie. Buffer, Social Sprout or TidalWave), CMS (ie. WordPress and SquareSpace), CRM (ie. HubSpot), ESP (ie. MailChimp, Constant Contact).
- Advanced/expert user of laptop and mobile devices, and mobile and web applications with excellent all-round knowledge of various SaaS business tools and applications.
- Proficient with deep experience in using Microsoft / Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive), Google Workspace (Mail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Advanced presentation skills (PowerPoint and/or Keynote and/or Google Slides) and intermediate Google Sheets/MS Excel skills are necessary.
- Ownership of personal computer or laptop (Windows or Mac) with internal microphone, headset, webcam, fast internet connection (WiFi/broadband, at least 30Mbps download and 15Mpbs upload speed).
- Ownership of a smart mobile phone with 4G mobile internet connection and a good signal (ownership of a tablet is a plus but not a requirement).
- Superior webcam and high-quality audio devices (wireless/wired headphones with microphone).
Work experience:
- Previous work experience of at least 8 years as Sales Manager/Director, VP/Director of Sales, New Business Manager/Director or Chief Sales Officer.
- Proven success and track records of selling software or hardware or professional/business services.
- Proven success and track records of international sales and business development at small and medium-sized companies or large enterprises across various industries.
- Excellent sales, customer success and digital marketing skills.
- Experience in working with C-suite (C-level executives/executive management) and senior team members (marketing and operations).
- International/global work experience, in US/overseas, in Europe and/or in the APAC region.
Communication requirements:
- Above average communication skills, and fluent written and spoken English are mandatory requirements.
- Comfortable with email and chat communication, phone calls and video conferences as they happen often.
Personal requirements:
- Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
- Excellent selling and negotiation skills
